On Sunday, June 29, Lynn Koiner will host her famous annual picnic in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. In the past, astrologers and friends have come from many States along the east coast, from Canada and even from Vienna Austria.
THIS IS A POTLUCK EVENT! It is a free event, no charge, just bring food and drinks (non-alcoholic). The tables are filled with food -- and high standards for cooking are expected. The food is continually replaced as people join the picnic all during the day. Readers are available, as this is one of the most popular events at the picnic.
Bring good food to share. If you will not eat it, no one else will either. Avoid mayonnaise type foods as it will go bad in the heat. But, everyone has always brought wonderful food. My chairs are limited so please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
The date for the picnic are always selected astrologically. I always use basic electional techniques for selecting a date. In the 30 years of hosting these picnics, it has never been canceled due to the weather
and, despite oppressive heat that can occur, the 100 year old Tulip Popular tree provides cool breezes that always lowers the temperature. This year I choose June because the heat is becoming more
oppressive in July and August.
Lastly, this used to be my dad’s favorite event but he passed in 2019. “Corner Plot" was selected by the Silver Docs 2010 Film Festival and shown at the American Film Institute. This film was shown in
